Rooibos Tea

Rooibos or Red Bush tea is a herbal tea produced from a plant which is native to South Africa. Rooibos Tea not only tastes good but it reported to have nurmerous health benefits.

Health Benefits of Rooibos Tea

Rooibos Tea has a calming effect on the central nervous system and may assist with sleeping problems, including insomnia. Rooibos Tea is also good for skin conditions including eczema, just add some rooibos tea bags to a bath and soke in it.

Rooibos Tea is high in anti-oxidants and will help destory free radicals and boost the immune system. Some have reported it may help in the fight against certain diseases and cancer.

Rooibos Tea does not contain any caffiene and therefore makes a great alternative to green tea. So you can enjoy several Rooibos teas without worrying about ingesting too much caffiene.

To get the maxium benefits of Rooibos let the tea, don’t add milk and let the tea sit in the water for a few minutes to infuse.

Should I use rooibos tea bags or loose rooibos in a strainer - It doesn't matter as long as it is good quality. I prefer to use organic Rooibos Tea.

Iced Rooibos Tea

To enjoy a nice cool, refreshing drink, try a chilled Rooibos Tea. Boil one litre of hot water, add to a jug with 5 or 6 Rooibos Tea Bags. Add lemon, sugar or honey to taste, put it in the fridge until cold, serve with ice cubes. You still get all the health benefits of Rooibos Tea
